Nermie

Nermie (His real name is Nermal, but we usually call him Nermie) is a wonderful gray stripped tabby.  He has a very sad origin story. When he was a kitten he was homeless, living off the kindness of my cat loving mother-in-law.  One day someone shot Nermie with a pellet gun and my husband took him to the vet and we adopted him after we got married.
Nermie is a real goofball. He loves to play rough with other cats, but never tries to hurt them. He likes to eat fish and snuggle with us on the couch.  His biggest problem is that he has never mastered the art of burying his poo in the litter box.  Once, my husband Ethan offered our cat Hansel several cans of salmon if he would bury Nermie's poo. Hansel did this for him (and yes he got the salmon), but Nermie still hasn't mastered this skill even though he is more than a year old.
Nermie used to have difficulty making friends in the cat world. Although he is very sweet with people, his rough housing with the cats tended to annoy Hansel, causing him to ignore the gray tabby.  Gretel has never liked Nermie (although Gretel doesn't like almost anyone).  Then one day, we brought home another cat named Rocky (he also has his own page) and Nermie soon adopted him as his own and taught him to play rough too.  Now the pair is inseparable and since they look so much alike, they are often mistaken for relatives.  Nermie is learning to get along with other cats in the same way.  Since he now leaves Hansel alone when he wants to play rough, their relationship has improved as well.
